This weekend we decided to get out of the city! Saturday at 9am we loaded up the kids and drove out to Mt. Fuji area which is about 60 miles out of the city. Needless to say it was a gorgeous day and the rest of Tokyo had the same great idea! We didn't arrive at our destination until THREE HOURS later! Sitting in traffic most of the time. Talk about family bonding. There are no rest stops or gas stations off the tollway for the most part so thankfully we had a full tank of gas and no one had to "go". And we did pack lunches too so once we arrived, everyone ate lunch in the car! We had a great view of Mt. Fuji. Then, we went to the Safari Park which was just amazing. The kids got to pet and feed wallabies in an area, see little monkeys, real kangaroos and pet them, ponies, and other small animals. It was pretty exciting. There was a Safari drive through where you could drive your vehicle through wild animals in their own divided areas. There were bears, lions, tigers, buffalo, giraffes and more! It was pretty cool and the kids got a kick out of it. Thankfully none of them attacked our car as we were driving through. We left around 3pm and again hit that nasty traffic and didn't arrive home until after 6pm. We were so happy to be home!! Then, Saturday night we celebrated someone's 40th birthday at "57" in Roppongi. It was a 70's Disco theme adn there was a very cool band playing disco music too. Tomorrow is a Sports banquet for Trevor so I am taking the train to the school with my neighbor. That will be a first! Then, Tuesday I am going on an outing with other moms from Katie's school. Looking forward to that as well. Then the kids are off Wed-Friday for teacher conferences so we have some fun activities planned. Stay tuned!

You guys are staying busy. Loved some of the pictures from the party! You must have found a sitter for the kids?! Looks like a lot of people to do fun things with in Japan!
