Hello everyone! We have groggily made it to our new home here in Tokyo, Japan. The kids travelled very well and survived the 12+ hour flight fromChicago to Tokyo. We left at 1pm Central time and landed around 1:15am which was 3:15pm here. Katie fell asleep the last two hours of the flight. The boys slept around 30 minutes each maybe. Too much excitement! Once at the airport we had to survive customs which is a long line and not fun! Also hot inthe airport as well. Kyle leans on my shoulder and cries that he wants to go home. Not a good start! Our luggage all arrived and our driver was waiting. So we boarded up into the van to head home. That ride lasted about 2 hours and most of us spent it snoozing. We got to the apt. and then made a grocery run and ate a light meal before crashing around 7-8pm Tokyo time! At least everyone slept until around 5:30 am so not too bad of a first night here. Trevor and Kyle were outside riding bikes by 7:30am. Becki had to go with Orientations to get her paperwork done. Thesad news of the day is that the iphone 3 is totally sold out and unavailable here so now I am on the waiting list for the iphone 4. So that means no cell phone for several weeks which stinks! I managed to find a Mr. Donut so got some sweet treats for the kidsto enjoy for breakfast-yum!! We took the kids to the American Club for dinner after the orientation. Everyone was very tired but made it through the meal. Kyle and Katie checked out a few books from the library there. A little taste of home. So, that is our first of beginnings here. The apt. need some work in getting o
ganized and getting boxes out of here but that will come in time. Love to all in the US! Miss you much!!!
Ready to head to Chicago

So glad you made it safe and sound! Love reading all about it. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures! Love to everyone.
Great to hear all about your travels Becki! I know exactly how you are feeling and it is a bit scary. We are praying for you and the kids to have a quick time adjusting to the new surroundings. Give yourself some time though. It took me about a year to feel like the UK was home. Good luck to all of you. I'm sure Tim is happy to have you there! Miss you and keep posting. You will want to have all the experiences recorded!
