Quick update

OK-feeling guilty it's almost been a month since I updated. That is nuts. But proves that we haven't been bored! The second weekend in October was a "holiday weekend" here-4 day weekend. We got to visit Dad at his job on Monday and had lunch with him. We took the subway and the kids really enjoyed knowing where Dad spends so much time. Tuesday we went to the American Club and the kids swam. The following weekend was Homecoming at the school and Spirit Day! There were games, a cake walk, football, Haunted House and lots of food! We had some grilled meat on a stick and Tim got some sushi. We also won a cake! Then, the following weekend we had an all day soccer event for the boys. Each of them played 5-6 mini games-Kyle in the morning and Trevor in the afternoon. It was a LONG day but the boys had fun and Katie kept busy with all the other little sisters that were there! Katie has started doing some modeling. It is a good way to see different parts of Tokyo and meet other people too. She seems to like it and it is a once in a lifetime opportunity while we are here! Today we celebrated Halloween in a BIG way! ASIJ has an all elementary parade where eVERYONE at school dresses up. The kids get such a kick out of it! Then they have a carnival and then a class party! Halloween is big in Tokyo! Can't wait to go trick or treating on Sunday. I took a class called Tokyo Here and Now put on by the Women's Club at the American Club. It was really interesting and I got to meet other newcomers like myself. I also took a fun cooking demo class with some traditional Japanese dishes. It included a tuna bowl, teriyaki salmon, deep fried Japanese sweet potatoes, and ground chicken wraps. We also got to visit the Tsujiki fish market. It was amazing with fresh fish and seafood of all types. There was also an outer market area which had fresh ramen noodles, and so much food that I have never seen in my life! I tasted some tea and ate a homeade pork dumpling. It was a great day! There is so much to see and do it is overwhelming at times. And I am co-leading girl scouts for Katie which I love! So there it is for the most part. The last month at a glance. :):) I will not post some pics so enjoy!

Great update Becki! I'm so glad to hear that you guys are having fun and keeping busy. Sounds like the school is amazing. We went trick-or-treating in your neighborhood on Sunday. Went with the Gibsons. Missed you all!
